Van Winkle Inn Greenville New York
Discovered almost a decade ago, this former single family mansion was left undisturbed. Current owners Holly and Bert Tobin took on the massive undertaking of restoring it to it's former glory and converting the property into a commercial zone and inn. They have been running the inn successfully ever since and have created a treasure trove of potential upside. Next door but also part of the property is a highly sought after antique dealer, serving the greater Catskill and NYC antique enthusiast. If it's not found within "Chipped, Tarnished, and Torn" the proprietor is notorious for finding your treasures wherever they may be, even those that are hard-to-find.
WEDDINGS: The back yard to the Inn is perfect for a country wedding. The current owners have hosted only a handful of weddings but this category could be greatly expanded to accommodate wedding parties of various sizes. The spacious yard combined with the rustic surroundings are ideal for today's modern bride and groom's vision of a true farm-to-table experience in the Catskills. A large onsite barn, currently being used for storage, can be transformed into an event space, hosting not only weddings, but events of all kinds.
RESTAURANT: The current owners are providing breakfast for their guests. However, the large dining room and front living can be arranged differently to provide seating for a fine dining restaurant. The barn behind the main home can also be utilized for restaurant space. Growing produce onsite would also be available.
BREWERY/DISTILLERY: The grounds and onsite buildings would provide space for a tasting room and manufacturing area to either brew beer or spirits. The state of NY offers generous incentives for these types of business and this location is part of an active tourist trail serving the northern Catskills.
ADDITIONAL INCOME: Within the existing buildings onsite, there are other income producing options including additional nightly or yearly rentals, commercial space, storage space, and more. Schedule a tour for a walk through to explore these options.
OUTDOOR SPACES: The inn has a variety of outdoor spaces that can be enhanced to add entertaining, seating, or just plain relaxing areas to guests. Porches currently exist on the front of the main house, rear of main house, and on the guest cottage.
