Florence Rose B&B Florence Colorado

Area Description: The quaint little town of Florence, (pop. 3,000) is known as the antique capital of Southern Colorado. Main Street buzzes with blocks of antique shops, art galleries and restaurants. Located just 20 minutes from the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, and 15 minutes from The Royal Gorge Train, that runs along the Arkansas River, a river that offers the best white water rafting in the state. There are 2 great zip lines, beautiful hiking trails, rock climbing, and lots of activities that can be enjoyed year round, due to the most beautiful and mild weather in Colorado.

Site: This 135 year old Victorian Farmhouse, has been a B&B for over 30 years. As you can see by our reviews, it is the most relaxing, private, little oasis in Southern Colorado. The 1.5 acre property is beautifully manicured and lush, outlined with blue spruce, filled with mature shrubs, surrounded by 140 year old silver maple trees.

The red brick patio and side yard, have 2 soothing water fountains. The cozy and private hot tub gazebo is the perfect setting for guests to relax and unwind after a day filled with all the activities the area has to offer, or they can toss a few in the full size horseshoe pit.
In addition, the 1907 carrige house makes for a fantastic garage/workshop. It's nearly 2,000 square feet , and just got a brand new roof. It also has a 12 foot high loft, great for storage.

On the west side of the property, sits a little gem, an 1860 log cabin. The cabin was reassembled on the property in 1946, and used as a hamburger stand, a vegetable market, and even a residence up to the 1980’s. We have been slowly restoring it over the last 5 years, with the intention of making it a rental again. It’s about 80% restored, just needs a few finishing touches, and creativity, and you have another viable rental.

Structure: This 1886 Victorian, is a 3 story solid brick mansion. It’s has 7 beautifully decorated Victorian bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. All the guests rooms have a private bath, which makes this the perfect home for a B&B. The 2 sitting parlors are ideal for guests to sit and relax. All the guest rooms are beautifully appointed with turn of the century antique furnishings, including vintage wardrobes. At the top of the stairs sits a one of a kind, 1910 hand carved ornate Murphy Bed. Adding to the warm, cozy feeling of ‘home’. The Garden Room, which is a separate building on the patio, use to be the ‘summer kitchen’, where back in the day, they would cook in order to keep the house cooler in the summer. Now, it is our most popular room, being very private, with it’s own bathroom with stall shower, and easy access to the hot tub gazebo and the patio. This is also our only ‘pet friendly’ room, which a lot of folks appreciate.

With 7 guests rooms, we have the ability to accommodate up to14 guests.The vintage kitchen has a turn of the century, gas and wood burning stove, an oak island that came from an 1800’s grocery store, where it was used as a counter to sell pasta and bean’s, the antique pantry and vintage cupboard for dishes, wagon wheel on the ceiling for pots and pans, all combine to make you feel like you’re a chef in the 1800’s. A new, top of the line roof was added to the house and Garden Room in 2010. The kitchen’s electric circuits were updated in 2011, and a new dishwasher and electric stove added in 2016. A new refrigerator was just added in 2019. The gas fired furnace in the basement has been maintained, and works perfect warming all the individual hot water radiators throughout the house.

Offering: The Florence Rose Guesthouse is being offered as a completely ‘turn-key’ operation for $799,900.

INCLUDED: As well as the house and 1.5 acre of land, carriage house, and cabin, all antique furnishings (valued approx. $100,000), silverware, china, dishes, cups, glasses, tablecloths, bed linens, blankets, quilts, towels, shampoo, and soaps, etc. Everything needed to be up and running immediately.
