After 10 years as a B&B the Inn has been primarily a Whole House rental the last 9 years.  It has many beautiful features including: Beveled glass in front windows and stained glass in hall & 2nd floor bath, hand painted bath tiles, Real oak floor in most of the house, Oak kitchen cabinets, Oak mantel and Wrap around front porch. 

Not just 5 bedrooms, the Inn has all master suites with private baths.  Four suites are currently used as a vacation rental and the 5th suite is kept as private quarters/office.  This suite has a separate entrance from the side door, basement access, a sittingroom, bedroom and a full bath.  A door connects this suite to the main diningroom. 

The Livingroom, diningroom and kitchen are very open to each other making entertaining easy.  The kitchen was recently upgraded and a 2nd prep area with granite top added.  New stainless steel appliances including a gas range completed the update.  A long oak serving bar adds to convenience and a large opening to the diningroom over the kitchen sink provide a very opening feeling.   A table and 4 chairs in front of oversized windows complete the kitchen.  The diningroom has a large table and seating for 8. 

Always a favorite with guest are the patios and front wrap-around porch.  There is also a 2nd floor deck off the Oasis Studio aprtment and a 2nd floor Victorian airing porch.

The over-sized (3-4 car) garage is 1000sq. ft. and has 2 overhead doors (one over-sized), 100 amp electric service and 3 man doors.  One door leads to a large patio looking out to Lake Erie and the lighthouse park. The yard beyond the patio is large enough for a tent for entertaining.

All suites are uniquily furnished.  Reminisant of the 1920's, the Gatsby Suite has real oak floors and is decorated in gray & black. The sitting room and bedroom are separated by French Doors, with the sitting room overlooking Second Street and the bedroom looking toward Lake Erie and the Portage River entrance. In addition to the queen bedroom, the sitting room now has a double bed. A comfortable chair and mini refrigerator are also provided for convenience. The suite's private bath has a whirlpool tub with shower and pedestal sink. The tub is tiled in black and white with feature tiles hand-painted by a local artist.

The Battenberg Room provides a perfect romantic get-a-way. The private bath is most inviting, with an arched stained glass window over the two-person whirlpool tub. It is furnished with a queen bed, antique dresser, arm chair and table.

The Oasis studio apartment is inspired by nature and provides the perfect setting for those traveling with a friend or child. In addition to the queen bed a sleep sofa provides sleeping space. Longer stays are enhanced by the private bath and full kitchen. The apartment is decorated in earth tones and comfortably furnished. The room is accessed from the main hall or from a private second story deck. The deck looks out to Lake Erie and is surrounded by huge old trees providing a perfect spot for birdwatching and relaxing.

The Seafarer is located on the first floor, just off the kitchen and only five steps up from a private patio. This comfortable room for two has a queen bed and private bath. The Seafarer is decorated with nautical memorabilia and prints, and has all the amenities that make a seafarer comfortable on land, including A/C. If your knees are wobbly on land after years at sea, you will appreciate the extra supports added to the adjoining bathroom as well as the higher toilet and walk-in shower. We regret that we are unable to provide a totally handicapped accessible suite, but hope that these improvements will be of assistance to some of our guests.
