Scenic Overlook Bed and Breakfast Pinnacle North Carolina For Sale
Welcome to The Scenic Overlook Bed and Breakfast. The drive into this secluded private estate begins on highway 52 when you first catch a glimpse of Pilot Mountain. From the exit, a quick turn onto a winding gravel road carries you out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and into a private natural setting. As you drive down a small hill you approach the lake and catch the first glimpse of the majestic nearly 7,000 sf home. A short drive over the dam and through the gates and you arrive at a place worthy of being called “Home”.
Inside the Scenic Overlook, you will find five guest suites (four with magnificent views of Pilot Mountain) and two additional bedrooms on the terrace level which was used as the owner's suite. The five suites all feature: whirlpool tubs for two; fireplaces; nine-foot ceilings; refrigerators; microwaves; coffee makers; TV; VCR; DVD; CD player; and hair dryers.
Each suite is decorated in its own individual style which ranges from Victorian to Traditional and 18th Century. You will find hand carved mahogany furnishings, some featuring romantic canopy beds. For the comfort of guests, each suite is equipped with individual heat and air conditioning controls.
The back deck stretches an impressive 83 feet across the back of the B&B with an awesome view of the lake and mountain. If the weather is not to your liking the same view can be enjoyed from the covered 83-foot long climate controlled porch.
Activities on the property include rowboats, canoeing, fishing (catch and release no license required), or picnicking in one of two gazebos.
The most prominent attraction nearby is Pilot Mountain State Park which can be accessed by vehicle or via the Grassy Ridge Trail by foot or horseback. The park features a trail system that totals 15 miles as it winds through the ancient and forested Sauratown Mountains. The featured destination is a close up view or hike around the cylindrical pinnacle that stands some 2000 feet above the valley below.
Mount Airy, made famous by The Andy Griffith Show, hosts its annual Mayberry Days in late September and is a must visit. Be sure to visit during the remainder of the year as well and take advantage of the Andy Griffith Museum open 7 days and week.
The surrounding area offers numerous winery & vineyard options within a short drive that allow for a taste of the local flavor and beautiful views.
Winston-Salem and Wake Forest University are just a short drive down US 52. Attractions include Old Salem, Reynolda House, Reynolda Gardens, Quarry Park, Tanglewood Park, Downtown breweries/brewpubs, and sport events to name a few.
